5 Easy Tips for Transitioning Your Wardrobe from Winter to Spring

This time of year our favorite stores at The Avenue start teasing us with spring looks. If you are anything like us, we can’t wait to pack away the sweaters and boots in exchange for fun prints and sandals. We like to will it warm with our wardrobes and the good news is, if you follow our five easy tips for transitioning your winter wardrobe into spring looks, you’ll be on track for full-on spring fashion before you know it!

1. Lighten Up - Trade heavy corduroy and tweed fabrics for lighter weight options like linen, cotton and silks. It might be too chilly for bare legs just yet, but a pair of linen pants will make you feel more like spring, while still keeping you warm. Mix and match some of your winter pieces with lighter spring options to get you headed in the right direction. 

2. Brighten Up - Winter colors tend to be dull, dark and a little drab. By adding brighter colors into your daily looks with scarves or jewelry, you can gradually take your look from winter to spring. 

3. Layer Up - Layers are a good thing, not only to keep you warm, but to add dimension and interest to your daily looks. Start wearing spring tops and dresses now by layering them with cardigans and denim jackets. 

4. Sole Switch - Nothing says winter fashion more than boots. It might not be time for sandals just yet, but switching out your winter footwear for ballet flats is the perfect way to take your look from winter to spring.

5. Cosmetic Conversion - Now that your wardrobe is beginning to shift, don’t forget to ditch dark nail polishes for pastel hues and trade in your lipsticks for pretty shades of pink and coral.
